Introduction

Welcome to Opiro. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services.

Opiro is a music streaming and sales platform that connects artists directly with fans. We facilitate the upload, sale, and streaming of music while ensuring fair compensation for artists.

Terms for Artists

Music Ownership & Licensing

By uploading music to Opiro, you confirm that you:

  • Own all rights to the uploaded content or have obtained necessary licenses
  • Have the authority to grant Opiro a non-exclusive license to host, stream, and distribute your music
  • Are responsible for any copyright infringement claims related to your uploaded content
  • Agree not to upload content that violates intellectual property rights, contains hate speech, or promotes illegal activities

Revenue Sharing

Opiro operates on a transparent revenue-sharing model:

  • Artists receive 85% of all album sales
  • Platform fee is 15% of the gross sale amount
  • Payment processing fees (Paystack) are deducted before the revenue split
  • Example: For a ₦2,000 album sale, you receive approximately ₦1,700 (85% of sale minus payment fees)

Withdrawals & Payouts

  • Earnings are held for 7 days before becoming available for withdrawal
  • Withdrawals require verified Nigerian bank account details
  • Minimum withdrawal amount: ₦1,000
  • Withdrawal processing time: 1-3 business days
  • We reserve the right to hold funds pending investigation of suspicious activity

Terms for Fans

Purchases & Access

  • All purchases are final and non-refundable unless required by law
  • Purchased albums remain in your library as long as your account is active
  • You may not share, redistribute, or resell purchased music
  • Streaming is for personal, non-commercial use only
  • We reserve the right to revoke access to content that violates these Terms

Payment Terms

  • Payments are processed securely through Paystack
  • We do not store your payment card details
  • Prices are displayed in Nigerian Naira (₦)
  • Payment confirmation is sent via email after successful purchase

Star Donations & Tipping

Opiro allows fans to support artists through star donations, a tipping system that enables fans to show extra appreciation for music they love.

How Star Donations Work

  • Stars can only be given to albums you have already purchased
  • Three star tiers are available:
    • 1 Star (Gold): Equal to the album price
    • 2 Stars (Orange): Double the album price
    • 3 Stars (Purple): 10× the album price
  • Star donations follow the same 85/15 revenue split as album sales
  • Star earnings are subject to the same 7-day holding period as album sales
  • You may give stars multiple times to the same album to show ongoing support

Star Donation Policy

  • All star donations are final and non-refundable
  • Star donations are considered voluntary tips/donations to artists
  • Star amounts cannot be disputed or reversed after payment is processed
  • Stars are only available for paid albums (not free albums)
  • Rate limits apply to prevent abuse (maximum 5 stars per artist per day, 20 stars globally per day)

Supporter Badges

Fans who give stars earn supporter badges as achievements:

  • Bronze Badge (Level 1): 1-4 total stars given to an artist
  • Silver Badge (Level 2): 5-9 total stars given to an artist
  • Gold Badge (Level 3): 10+ total stars given to an artist

Badges are purely achievement-based and do not guarantee any benefits, perks, or special treatment. They serve as a recognition of your support for artists.

Artist Terms for Stars

  • Artists receive 85% of all star donations (same as album sales)
  • Star earnings are held for 7 days before becoming available for withdrawal
  • Artists may see a "Top Fans" leaderboard showing supporters who have given stars
  • Artists cannot request or require fans to give stars
  • Opiro reserves the right to suspend star donations if abuse is detected

Prohibited Content & Conduct

The following content and activities are strictly prohibited:

  • Copyright infringement or unauthorized use of others' intellectual property
  • Content containing hate speech, violence, or discrimination
  • Sexually explicit or pornographic material
  • Content promoting illegal activities or self-harm
  • Spam, phishing, or fraudulent content
  • Attempts to circumvent payment systems or platform security
  • Harassment, bullying, or abusive behavior toward other users
  • Use of automated systems (bots) to manipulate the platform

Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that:

  • Violate these Terms of Service
  • Engage in fraudulent or illegal activities
  • Upload prohibited content
  • Receive multiple verified copyright infringement claims
  • Attempt to manipulate the platform for financial gain

Upon termination, artists will receive any eligible earnings in their wallet (subject to the 7-day holding period). Fans will lose access to their purchased library.

Intellectual Property

All content on the Opiro platform, including but not limited to logos, trademarks, user interface, and software, is owned by Opiro or licensed to us. You may not copy, reproduce, or use our intellectual property without permission.

Music uploaded by artists remains the property of the respective artists. By uploading, artists grant Opiro a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, stream, and distribute the content solely for the purpose of operating the platform.

Limitation of Liability

Opiro is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free operation, or freedom from viruses or malicious code.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Opiro shall not be liable for:

  • Loss of profits, revenue, or data
  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Copyright infringement claims arising from user-uploaded content
  • Service interruptions or technical failures
  • Payment processing issues caused by third-party providers

Dispute Resolution

If you have a dispute with Opiro, please contact our support team at support@opiro.com. We will make reasonable efforts to resolve disputes amicably.

Any disputes that cannot be resolved through negotiation shall be governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and subject to the jurisdiction of Nigerian courts.

Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

For significant changes affecting revenue sharing or user rights, we will notify users via email at least 30 days before the changes take effect.
